E325 Construction

I got the mini titan [E325] in kit form as I thought ready to fly would not help me when I needed to repair the model after a crash! Anyhow half the fun is in the building…

The first page of the manual details the kit contents and what should be inside the box, all bags were laid out and checked off the list. All bags present and ready for the off!

ECCPMThe manual takes you though the build systematically starting off with the rotor head assembly through to the chassis, rear boom, mounting the radio gear and most aspects you can think of… apart from how to configure your radio gear to mix for the 120 degree e-ccpm swash settings - I have Futaba radio gear and the manual was rubbish… Thanks to the heliguy forum for assistance!

Finally the body shell was cut out using a mini drill with a cutting disk fitted. E325 BodyShellI find using a hobby knife rather suicidal so I steer clear of such instruments! At first I only cut out a few of the air vents only finding out later that the speed controller was overheating, so the remaining vents were cut out. I also glued some small pieces of ply to the underside of the canopy window for the fixings to have something to bind into - Thats if you decide to cut the window out!

Construction of the main helicopter took about four hours. Fitting the radio gear, motor & esc took another couple of hours as most of the servos didnt fit the mountings.

So far my kit consisted of the basic motor & esc, a futaba gy401 + 3154 micro digital tail servo, 3 HS56HB’s for the cyclic controls and a futaba 2.4GHz 6EX tranny and receiver.

JP Lipro Plus & 10A PSUAt North Weald Air Show I got hold of some Lipo’s from Overlander, the Tornado 1800 3s 25C LiPo Cells - for the money I’m well pleased. To keep the cells tip top I’ve got a JP Lipro plus 5 charger/balancer with a 10A JP power supply… So far so good!
