Flew in to a tree!

Was flying my king 2 in the local field with the training gear on and decided to take it a bit higher then I have before. The wind caught hold of the heli and it started to drift, thanks to my simulator training i managed to loop back and fly nose-in. But the wind caught it again and started to make the heli drift towards a large oak tree. I tried to increase throttle to clear the tree but the heli went straight in to the very top of the tree, and stayed there.

I had to climb the 30ft tree to re-claim my heli.

So, the damage sustained was a broken main blade, a snapped skid support and the main nylon gear had damaged teeth. total repair cost was £30.

in future i am only flying in tree-less fields!

Crash damage

I was flying around the garden and managed to fly in to the dustbin, suprisingly the blades survived but the feathering shaft had to be removed as it was bent. The shaft is a pain to get off but once off was just a matter of straighting it in the vice. The king 2 is back in action now; if only the wind would stop, i could get back to practicing. The simulator will have to do for now!
