Got my next heli early so I could have it ready for woodsprings, for info and pics of the build follow the link http://www.heliguy.com/Forum/ollie-swift-550-carbon-build-und-flight-experiences-t26094.html#181556

Paul let me have a go on his swift agian
, but this time with 550 blades. And after the 1st flight he gave me the all clear to go inverted
, but only at high altitude.
Inverted hover, flips, rolls, inverted piros, 540 stall turn, inverted circuits forwards and backwards, some funky flips and a pie dish.

If you have G3.5, then why not download my lastest 3D recording on a TRex 600N. If you dont have that heli yet then you can download it HERE.

Managed to get to the flying field after a LOT of waiting, it was January since my last 3D adventure so its been a while.
Anyway, I spent the 1st hour tinkering with the heli, tracking, belt tension, pitch ect. until I was happy with it. I bagan with some normal 3D flips, loops, rolls and inverted hover until I built my confidence back. Then I was away doing inverted circuits and pie dishes for the 1st time
. More tic toes and there easier to do now with the longer flybar and more cyclic pitch, piro flips and a bit of grass cutting
.
But I was about to finish as my mum had arrive to pick me up and Paul had just said ‘’times up'’ because he both records and times my flights
. Talk about jinxing a flight hey
, my heli just….well…..I dont quite know. But it mashed its self up pretty dam good and hit the ground from around 25-30ft boom 1st.
Damage: 1 Radix Blade
BUT one is STILL OK!!!
Boom
Belt
Main Gear
Fly bar
The entire tail section gone, and I couldn’t find it
Horizontal finn sheard off (you can see it fly off in the video)
Tail push rod
Washout part (not the CNC bit but the grey plastic parts)
A few head linkages bent
Most of the parts I have in my spares box
, but these I will have to order.
Upgraded tail - £20 (I can get it of fleabay
)
Head linkages - £2.99
Horizontal finn - £3.99
Tail pushrod - £3.50
Bracket accessories - £2.99
Total - £31
But add another £30 for a new set of radix blades

Any comments appreciated and has anyone had a similar crash like that happen to them?

Had my 1st go at extreme 3D on the 450XL
, went rather well did some piro flips and tic toes and was rolling and flipping it about all over the place, i even threw in a 3D start
.

Weather wasent that great so i went indoor flying
, and it was the ideal place to set up my new GY401 and boy is it brilliant
. Rock steady and does exactly what i tell it to. The flying was good, did some piroeuting circuits and backwards circuits
. And a couple of autos
VIDEO HERE
Then some other guys turned up with some foaimes and boy can they fly, lots of 3D in such a small place.
VIDEO HEREÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ANDÂ HEREÂ
And i flew together another sim video, even more 3D and ive started doing 4 point tic toes and piroeuting tic toes
.

Gladness
and sadness
, i started my flying by doing some loops and pretty low inverted hovering
, at some points i was only 2 inches off the ground
. And when i landed there was some blood on the blade
a fly must have flown in to the blades when
inverted. Then i did some rolls and more low inverted hover, the wind was around 10mph so was a bit differn’t from last time when there was none making it a lot harder to control whilst inverted. I also threw in an inverted piro
.But as i was doing so well i had it in an inverted hover, then the wind really picked up and just as it did the tail swang around violently (propably because of the gyro, because its going back to its annoying self agian
) . As i was battling with the tail the heli went in to an unplanned inverted circuit i was trying my best to keep it going and managed to do a quater of it with out realising. Then it just went lower and lower and lower. Then…… BANG!!!!!!!!
, i was very scared when it went in because it went in sooooooooo quick and inverted. I thought ‘’thats it my brand new £30 Radix blades are gone, and probably most of
my heli.'’ BUT to my delight the baldes were fine
, the only damage was…Flybar (My mate lent me one, thanks Paul)
Main gear (already got a spare)
Servo gear plus horn (on the same servo both replacable)
Feathering Shaft (got a spare)
My new canopy
, but its been selotaped back together
And possibly the main shaft but i haven’t checkd, but i have got a spare
.Â
