The Parrot Group was founded in 1994 by Henri Seydoux, and worked on remote control toys for many years.

In 2007, Parrot diversified it's product offering and started development on their first drone. Parrot has been developing remote controlled camera drones since this time, but stopped production of consumer drones in 2019 to focus solely on it's enterprise product - Anafi USA.
