How to Switch Between DJI Mini 2 Flight Modes: Remote Controller Toggle

Learn what each Flight Mode can do for you with this easy to follow tutorial.

When you want to quickly change between Flight Modes on your DJI Mini 2, it's best to use the Remote Controller. The Remote Controller comes with a handy Flight Modes Slider that enables you to quickly change between Norman, Cine and Sport. Each Flight Mode has its own particular purpose for different flight situations.

Let's start this Heliguy™ tutorial and begin taking a look at how to change between Flight Modes using the Remote Controller.

Switching Between Flight Modes:

To switch between Flight Mode simply push left or right on the Flight Mode toggle.

  1. Normal Mode: Located at the centre of the Flight Modes toggle, this mode should be aligned with the red marking for proper selection. It's the most popular Flight Mode among drone pilots, offering a simple and enjoyable flying experience in all environments with excellent handling.

  2. Cine Mode: This option is located on the left side of the Flight Modes toggle. Slide the toggle to select it. Choose Cine mode for smooth, cinematic video footage. This setting reduces the Mini 2's speed, ensuring the gimbal remains stable, which results in steady video capture. It's ideal for larger environments where minimal drone movement is needed.

  3. Sports Mode: Slide the toggle on the right-hand side of the Flight Mode button to select Sports Mode. This mode is ideal for fast-paced environments, like a racetrack, as it boosts the Mini 2's speed and responsiveness. It lets you keep up with moving vehicles, people, and objects in dynamic settings. Sports Mode is best suited for open areas without obstructions, as the aircraft flies faster than usual.

Now you've learnt all the Flight Mode basics you can try them all out and see which is best suited for your style of DJI Mini 2 flying. Test each Flight Mode out to get comfortable with the flight behaviours they exhibit during flight.
