No, we do not conduct drone surveying as a service. Our in-house survey team is equipped to help you introduce drones into your operations to streamline your surveying workflows.

However, through consultancy, training, and ongoing support, we provide you with the tools to enable you to conduct safe, efficient, and legal drone surveys.

Mapping is creating an accurate representation of 'where something is' at a location or on a site.

This georeferenced data can be stitched together to create a 2D map or 3D model. Photogrammetry or LiDAR are common data collection methods.

In contrast, a drone inspection yields a series of individual images that are used to understand the condition of an asset and identify defects and issues before they become too large or unmanageable. RGB or thermal data is often associated with a drone inspection.

There are a number of reasons why drones are advantageous for surveying, including safe, efficient, and accurate data collection. Drones can collect accurate survey data, faster and more safely than traditional/ground-based methods. This data can be processed in sophisticated software to create detailed maps and models which can then be used to drive decision-making, spot mistakes, maximise return on investment, keep projects on track, and collaborate with staff, stakeholders and the community.

No. Both qualified and unqualified surveyors can operate a drone for surveying purposes. A survey-grade drone operates similarly to a standard drone, but produces more accurate results which can be used to derive spatial information.

However, depending on the drone you choose and where you plan to fly it, drone training may be required. We can assist you with this.
