The following steps will guide you through unboxing and first use process of the product.

Open the package and take out the aircraft, remote controller and accessories.

Scan the QR code on the package to download and install the DJI Fly app. You can also watch the tutorial videos and read the User Manual after scanning.

Preparing the aircraft

1. Remove the propeller holder and gimbal protector.

1. Unfold the aircraft arms in turn and insert the microSD card.

1. When using it for the first time, use a charger to charge and activate the battery through the USB-C port of the aircraft.

 Tips

• It is recommended to use the DJI 30W USB-C Charger or other USB Power Delivery charger with an output of 30W or above.

• Charge the battery until at least three LEDs are on, so as to ensure power for the upcoming activation and firmware update.

 Preparing RC-N2

1.  Take out the control sticks from the storage slots and mount them.

1. Pull out the mobile device holder, and you will find the remote controller cable.

1. The connector on the right with an RC icon should connect with the remote controller.

1. The connector on the left should connect to your mobile device.

1. Place your mobile device in the holder with the charging port on the right side.

1. Secure your mobile device in place and then connect the remote controller cable. 

Tips

• Take out the connector from the left and unwind it to the right, making sure the cable is placed behind the holder.

• The cable is a lightning cable by default. A USB-C cable is provided in the package.

Preparing DJI RC 2 

1. Unfold the antennas.

1. Take out the control sticks from the storage slots and mount them.

1. Press power button once, and then again and hold for two seconds to turn remote controller on or off. 

1. Select a language and country or region after powering on. Then connect the remote controller to a Wi-Fi network and select the time zone.

   For new users register before logging in. Or if you have a DJI account login with those details.

1. After successfully logging in an activation prompt will appear on the screen.Tap to activate. 

1. After activation tap Start to go through the function guide of DJI RC 2 which will appear on your screen.

Powering on/off

Press the power button once and then again and hold for about two seconds, to power on the aircraft and remote controller respectively.  

Activating the aircraft 

Launch DJI Fly and follow the prompts to activate the aircraft.

After activation the aircraft is bound to the remote controller automatically.

Tips 

• Make sure that the mobile device or DJI RC 2 is connected to the internet.

• If the bottom right corner of the DJI Fly app shows Connection Guide, tap to link the aircraft and the remote controller.

 Purchasing DJI Care 

If you have purchased or intend to purchase DJI Care Refresh please finish the purchase and binding within 48 hours of activating the aircraft.

Updating Firmware

1. A prompt will appear on the top left of the screen if a firmware update is available, tap the prompt to enter the update screen.

1. Tap Update to update all devices to the latest firmware version.

Tips 

• During the update, it is normal for the middle two LEDs on the remote controller to blink alternatively and for the remote controller and the aircraft to automatically restart.

• After the update, the aircraft will automatically power off and need to be manually powered on. The remote controller will remain powered on.

Preparing for flight 

1.  Choose an open unobstructed environment to fly. Remove the propeller holder and gimbal protector and unfold the propellers.

1. Make sure that a microSD card has been inserted and the propeller and battery are securely installed.

1. Place the aircraft on level ground with the rear facing you and during take-off toggle the flight mode switch of the remote controller to N mode. 

1. Launch DJI Fly, open system setting and tap Safety.

1. Set the RTH height higher than the tallest building or nearby object.

1. Set Obstacle Avoidance to Bypass or Brake.

1. Make sure that the GNSS status icon is white and the DJI Fly app issue a voice prompt ‘Home Point Updated’.

Auto Take-off

1. Tap the Take-off icon on the left and press and hold the prompt icon to enable Auto Take-off.

1. After the icon on the left will change to Landing. Press and hold the prompt to make the aircraft land automatically

Manual Take-off

1. Take Mode 2 as an example, to take off manually pull both control sticks all the way down and then push them inwards or outwards. When the propellers start spinning gently push the left control stick up manually take off.

1. The left control stick is used for adjusting the aircraft altitude and orientation, and the right control stick allows the aircraft to move forward, backward, left and right.

   After you start the motors if the aircraft has not taken off. Pull down the left control stick to stop the motors. If the aircraft has taken off, pull down the left stick to land.

2. View the flight distance and speed in the bottom left corner of the app.

1. Keep the remote controller antennas facing the aircraft during flight for optimal transmission.

1. When the GNSS signal is weak, the compass encounters interference or the environmental lighting is not adequate.

1. The aircraft will enter Attitude mode and cannot hover or auto-brake. Please land in a safe location as soon as possible.

Taking Photos and Videos

1. Locate the Focus/Shutter button on the top right corner of the remote controller. Press halfway to activate Autofocus, and all the way down once to take a photo.

1. The record button is located in the top left corner of the remote controller. Press to start recording and press again to stop.

1. The dial on the left side controls the gimbal tilt, and the dial on the right side adjusts the camera zoom.

1. Tap the Landscape/Portrait switch icon or press the C2 button once to switch between Landscape and Portrait mode.

1. Enter the camera parameter setting from the bottom right.

1. Tap the Playback icon on the right side to view and download your footage.

QuickTransfer 

QuickTransfer helps you to quickly transfer the footage from the aircraft to your mobile device, this can be done using using two methods. 

Method 1: Using aircraft with the mobile device

1. Power on the aircraft.

2. Enable the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location on the mobile device.

3. Launch DJI Fly on the mobile device and a prompt will appear to guide you to connect the mobile device to the aircraft. When connecting for the first time, press and hold the power button of the aircraft for two seconds to confirm the connection.Once successfully connected the files on the aircraft can be accessed from the mobile device and downloaded at high speed.

Method two: Using the aircraft DJI RC-N2 and mobile device. 

1. When the aircraft is connected to the mobile device via the DJI RC-N2 and the aircraft is not inflight enable the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.

2. Launch the DJI Fly app and enter the Playback Album.

1. Tap the QuickTransfer icon in the top right of the screen to access the aircraft album and download footage.

1. When selected it will prompt.

Storage

1. Fold the aircraft arms, attach the gimbal protector and propeller holder.

2. Be careful not to press down on the propellers when attaching the propeller holder.

Changing the Aircraft's Battery

1. Insert the battery into the aircraft.

2. Connect a charger to the USB-C port of the aircraft to charge the battery.

3. You can also use DJI charging hub to charge the batteries, the battery with the highest power level will be charged first.

Tip

To ensure battery safety and battery life, the battery will automatically discharge to 60% power level when it is idle for nine days.

Replacing Propellers 

1. The aircraft has two different types of motors (A/B) and propellers (A/B) that pair up.

2. Propeller A and motor A are marked to distinguish from propeller B and motor B.

Any propeller that is deformed, corroded or with loose screws should be replaced.

Tips:

• To ensure flight stability, the two propellers of the same motor must be replaced together, and the crews fastened vertically.

• Replaced propellers and screws cannot be reused.

• When replacing a propeller use the Phillips screwdriver and the screws provided in the package.
