DJI has announced the launch of two new drones for precision agriculture.
The new drones - the P4 Multispectral and the Agras T16 - were unveiled at the opening keynote of this year's DJI Airworks conference in Los Angeles.
The P4 Multispectral is a high-precision drone with a seamlessly integrated multispectral imaging system built for agriculture missions, environmental monitoring, and more.
Meanwhile, the Agras T16 drone has an improved overall structure with modular design and supports the highest payload and widest spray width ever in a DJI agricultural drone.
With powerful hardware, an AI engine, and 3D-operation planning, the T16 brings operational efficiency to a whole new level.
Introducing the DJI P4 Multispectral Drone
The DJI P4 Multispectral drone allows you to access information collected by one RGB camera and a multispectral camera array with five cameras covering Blue, Green, Red, Red Edge, and Near Infrared bands – all at 2MP with global shutter, on a 3-axis stabilised gimbal.
An integrated spectral sunlight sensor on top of the drone captures solar irradiance, which maximises accuracy and consistency of data collection through different times of the day.
Users can enhance the accuracy of RTK positioning without internet connection by connecting the P4 Multispectral to the D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station and NTRIP (Network Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol)2, or store the satellite observation data to be used for Post Processed Kinematics (PPK).
At Airworks, DJI said that the P4 Multispectral will be shipped out in October.
Introducing the DJI Agras T16
Supported by its outstanding flight performance, the T16 spray tank can carry up to 16 litres, and the spray width has increased to 6.5 metres.
The spraying system has four delivery pumps and eight sprinklers with a maximum spray rate of 4.8 litres/min. The T16 can spray 24.7 acres (10 hectares) per hour. The spraying system also has an all-new electromagnetic flow meter, providing higher precision and stability than conventional flow meters.
The DJI Agras T16 has an IP67 rating, which provides reliable protection for key components of the drone, and also enables RTK Centimetre-Level Positioning.
Both the battery and spray tank are easily swappable, significantly improving the efficiency of power and liquid supply.
The T16’s upgraded radar system can sense the operating environment during the day or at night, without being affected by light or dust.
The T16 provides different modes for flat ground, mountains, and orchards, to meet most operational needs. Up to five T16 aircraft can be controlled by a single T16 remote controller simultaneously, doubling the efficiency of single-pilot operation.
