DJI has today revealed the Ronin-S Essentials Kit, to help even more photographers and filmmakers capture smooth, sharp footage.
The new-launch combo includes a range of accessories, such as the Ronin-S Gimbal, a BG37 Grip, Camera Mounting Plate and a Camera Riser, among other things.
But with the Ronin-S Standard Kit already out there, what is the difference between this and the Essentials package?

What Is The Difference In Price?
The first thing to note is the difference in cost between the two products.
The Essentials Kit is £459, while the Standard Kit is more than £200 extra, carrying a price tag of £669.
What Do I Get?
Perhaps the reason why the Essentials Kit is cheaper is down to the fact that you get less in the box than you do with the Standard offering.

Probably the biggest difference between the two packages is the Focus Wheel - i.e, it is NOT included in the Essentials Kit, but does come as part of the Standard bundle.

On its own, the Focus Wheel - which mounts to the Ronin-S handle to help control camera focus - costs £49.
Another difference between the two combinations is the Extended Grip/Tripod. It is made of plastic in the Essentials Kit, but metal in the Standard package.

Why Should I Buy The Essentials Kit?
The question you might be asking is why should I choose the Essentials Kit over the Standard package?
First off, there is the difference in cost - an investment which will save you hundreds of pounds.
Secondly, as its name suggests, it is an Essentials Kit. Therefore, going down this route may well equip you with the right amount of equipment that you need to get your photography or filmmaking adventures off the ground, instead of buying a larger package with gear you might not necessarily need.

With this in mind, the other advantage is that you can then pick and choose accessories to add to your kit. These additions are sold by Heliguy.
After all, with several interfaces built into the Ronin-S, the Essentials Kit allows users to determine the best accessories for their particular camera setup, including:
Camera-supported accessories: Multi-Camera Control Cable (including multi-USB, mini-USB, and other types), DC Power Cable, Top Hotshoe Bracket.
Control equipment: DJI Master Wheels, DJI Force Pro, Focus Wheel, Focus Motor, Command Unit.
Extended accessories: Universal Mount, External GPS Module, Battery Adapter, Cheese Plate, BG37 Grip.
If you do opt for the Essentials Kit, rest assured that it includes some impressive features, such as:
Maximum tested load is 3.6kg
Vehicle-based recording can remain stable at up to 75kph
High-capacity battery handle provides up to 12 hours of operation
As with the Standard package, the Essentials Kit gives you superior three-axis stabilisation and automated smart features.
The Essentials Kit is available to pre-order from Heliguy and should be in stock before the end of March.
