DJI Matrice 100 is Here
The DJI Matrice 100 has arrived at Heliguy. The new stable-mate of the DJI Inspire 1 can be adapted to carry different sensors and payloads. ... Read More
We're all delighted here at Heliguy because the DJI Matrice 100 has arrived. The much anticipated quadcopter has taken longer than expected to reach our warehouse but we're now very excitedly building our demonstration model so that we can seen how it handles and what it's capable of. Because it's designed for research and development, industrial applications and for the tinkerers amongst you, in theory no two Matrices will look the same. It's also designed to make the most of the DJI Software Development Kit. We've previewed the DJI Matrice 100 in a previous blog but, in a nutshell, it's a quadcopter with the same motors, props and transmitter as the Inspire 1 but it has a fixed undercarriage and adaptable bays for payload. It means that you could, if necessary, carry two batteries - one underneath in the standard position and an extra on top. That could give you a theoretical flying time of 40 minutes. DJI Matrice 100 combines with DJI Guidance
The big added bonus with the DJI Matrice 100 is the option to add DJI Guidance. It's a remarkable detect-and-avoid system which uses optical and ultrasonic sensors to spot and react to potential obstacles. Add Guidance to the mix for research and development work and you have the potential for some exciting projects. We're still waiting for ours but we'll let you now how we get on. dji-guidance-600x330.jpg DJI Guidance You can add a DJI X3 camera and gimbal to the Matrice 100 for up to 4K UHD video or 12MP stills. An N1 Video Encoder is also available so that you can use the integrated AV and HDMI video input interfaces to support a third-party camera. The images can then be transferred via the video downlink to produce a live HD view.
Self build or Heliguy build
The basic DJI Matrice 100 comes in self-assembly kit form but here at Heliguy we can build one for you to your own specifications and with any combination of accessories. We can even train you, someone in your company or your university to the standard required by the Civil Aviation Authority for commercial UAV pilots.
