Heliguy are proud and delighted to announce that we have obtained National Qualified Entity Status (NQE) from the Civil Aviation Authority. HeliGuy_Logo_RGB-CROP.jpg An NQE entitles us to train and examine drone pilots who want to become commercial operators and to use their aircraft for business purposes. We will provide ground school training, an examination and a practical flight test. Once pilots have completed these elements and prepared an Operations Manual, we are able to recommend them to the CAA for a Permission For Aerial Work (PFAW). CAA-Logo-new.jpg Heliguy NQE No. 1011/1447 Heliguy have had to assure the CAA that our training, safety and compliance procedures are of a high standard and that our personnel and premises are fit for purpose. Since April 2015 we have been training drone pilots at our Newcastle upon Tyne headquarters by hosting monthly courses provided by other NQEs. Because our satisfied students have travelled to Newcastle from all over the country, from February 2016 we will also be holding regular monthly courses in the London and Manchester areas. Heliguy-UK_Map_3-fixed_2000x2207-e1447940895964.png One common problem for trainee commercial pilots after they've successfully completed their ground school is arranging to take their practical flight assessment. Many have to book way ahead and travel long distances only to find that the weather has knocked their test on the head. Heliguy plans to change all that. We will build a strategically planned Pilot Network around the country so that students will never be too far from their important flight test.  What's more, we'll also have a permanent flight assessor in Newcastle available for emergency appointments 24/7/365, weather permitting. You'll also be able to book a flight assessment during the weeks we hold courses in Manchester and London. It will take time to develop our network but we will be interviewing assessors and flight trainers at London's Skytech event in January. Applicants will need to have a PFAW, a significant number of logged flight hours as well as the authority and people skills in order to deliver great value. In the meantime, if you think you'd be interested in becoming a flight assessor, get in touch with us here at Heliguy. We will be releasing more  details on the planned Pilot Network soon. This won't just be an assessment network. Eventually it will become a flight training network to ensure that demand for safe and competent flyers that the industry needs is satisfied, making the United Kingdom's commercial UAV market into a world leader. Inspire-against-sky-e1447859942252.jpg The great thing about training with Heliguy is that we are a one stop shop. As well as NQE courses we also offer sales advice and specialist tech support. It means you can buy a drone, have one built, and get it serviced or repaired all in one place.
