How To Use The Smart Return To Home Feature On The DJI Mavic Mini Drone
A step by step guide on how to use the Smart Return To Home (RTH) feature on the DJI Mavic Mini drone.
Enabling Smart Return To Home (RTH) allows you to safely return your aircraft to its home point at any point during your flight.
How To Use The Smart Return To Home Feature
Set RTH Altitude: Before taking off, set an RTH altitude in the safety section of the app. Ensure the altitude is within the provided range and higher than any nearby structures.
Activate RTH from Distance: When the aircraft is more than 20 metres from a recorded home point, tap the RTH icon on the left side of the screen. The aircraft will automatically land or return to home.
Manual RTH Activation: To initiate the return-to-home process, press and hold the RTH icon in the app or the RTH button at the top left of the remote controller.
Landing from Close Range: When the aircraft is less than 20 metres away from the home point, tap the icon on the left side of the screen to reveal the landing icon. Tap this icon for the aircraft to land automatically.
Ascend to RTH Altitude: If the aircraft's flight altitude is lower than the preset RTH altitude, it will ascend to the RTH altitude before flying back to the home point.
Direct Return to Home: If the aircraft's flight altitude exceeds the preset RTH altitude, it will fly straight back to the home point without ascending.
Automatic Landing: Upon arrival above the home point, the aircraft will land automatically and turn off its motors.
Disable RTH in Emergencies: In case of an emergency, tap the X icon on the left side of the screen or press the Flight Pause and RTH button on the top left of the remote controller to disable the RTH.
Manual Control: Once RTH is disabled, the aircraft will hover in place, allowing you to take manual control.
